Bi-coastal // Utility-scale solar

The bore is on the critical path.

We make sure it never holds up your COD. Horizontal directional drilling under anything, prequalified, insured, owner-operated.

// What we do

If you can't trench it, we bore it.

RMDT Utilities is a bi-coastal horizontal directional drilling contractor for utility-scale solar. We install the underground scope that can't be open-cut, pulling conductor and conduit beneath roads, rail, rivers, wetlands, and live utilities. Prequalified, insured, and owner-operated, we self-perform the bore so it stays on plan and never holds up your commercial operation date.

// The schedule

Why the bore decides your schedule

On a utility-scale solar field, the crossings sit on the critical path. The road bore, the river crossing, the gen-tie into the substation, these are the connections every other trade waits on. When a bore slips, mobilization stacks up behind it and your COD moves with it.

We plan the underground scope as a schedule problem first. Geotech read, drilling-fluid program, and an inadvertent-return plan in writing before the rig walks on, so the crossing gets pulled once, on the date you committed to.

// Why us

Built to clear your prequal before you ask.

We are a contractor your supply-chain team can approve fast, because the documentation is already in order.

01

Class A licenses, CA / OR / WA

Licensed to self-perform across our West-coast operating states. License numbers provided on request.

02

EMR 0.86, zero recordables in 3 years

A safety record that beats the bar most owners set. Documented and ready for your review.

03

Prequalified in ISN & Avetta

Already in the systems your EPC uses to gate subcontractors, so onboarding is paperwork, not a project.

04

Insured and additional-insured ready

$5M / $2M coverage, COI and additional-insured endorsements on request, scalable when the field demands it.

05

Written inadvertent-return plan

Geotech read, drilling-fluid program, monitoring, containment, and contingency, all committed to paper before we drill.

06

Real drillers, not a financed drill

Owner-operated rigs and crews who run these bores for a living, not one leased machine spread thin across jobs.

// STANDARDS & REFERENCES

Standards and references

Our crossings are planned and executed to the safety standards and trenchless practice the industry relies on, and our records sit in the prequalification systems your supply-chain team already uses. Useful references:

  • OSHA — the federal authority whose occupational safety standards our jobsite and crew practices follow.
  • NASTT — the North American Society for Trenchless Technology, whose good-practice guidance governs how directional bores are planned and executed.
  • NCCI — the body that calculates the Experience Modification Rate (EMR) used to verify our 0.86 safety record.
  • ISNetworld & Avetta — the third-party prequalification platforms we are prequalified in, where EPCs verify our compliance documentation.
